Batsirai Jamakanga

Grade 7 teacher and Head of Intermediate/Senior phase

Batsirai Jamakanga is married with 3 children, a son and twin daughters. His interests and hobbies are growing things - seeing things grow. He feels happy when he brings about change in someone's life. He loves the fact that Jesus was a teacher - that is why he enjoys teaching.

Mr Jamakanga believes that Eagle's Nest should be a beacon of light in Wallacedene. His dream is to be the best teacher he can be.

A fun experience: working with the children, especially when creating things as they have brilliant ideas. He believes that Eagle's Nest should be the model of many schools to come.

Jenipher Mutoko

Head of Foundation Phase and Grade 3 teacher.

Mrs Mutoko is married to Itai with three children, two sons and a daughter.  Her hobby is reading books - she calls herself a bookworm. She is passionate about teaching. She says that she feels at home at Eagle's Nest, not like a work place. She has been on staff for seven years. Her dream is to be a support teacher and a resource person for inclusive education.

Her catch-phrases are "Education + Jesus = success" and  "Go Eagle's Nest Go."

Gabriel Paris

Afrikaans Teacher - Intermediate/Senior Phase

Mr Paris is married, with two sons, Liam (4 years) and Alex (2months).

He spends his spare time playing football, running, singing and reading and studying the Scriptures. He believes he was called and brought to the school by God. He teaches because God wants him to. He loves Eagle's Nest. He finds God here every day. God uses him here to show His love. His dream is that Eagle's Nest will grow into what God wants and envisions it to be.

Mr Paris says: "God has reminded him that he is not too old to learn through the children at EN. They are all so bright."

He finds it amusing that some of the little children call him Mister Meneer! He believes that all people at Eagle's Nest are called by God.


Nqobizitha Sibanda

Grade 4 teacher

Nqobizitha is married with two daughters. His hobbies are running and playing soccer. He teaches because it is Christ-centred education. His dream is to be prosperous in everything he does.

Mr Sibanda has a gift for telling stories which is second to none! He finds he is able to get children to understand through the medium of stories.


Brighton Makondo

Grade 4 teacher

Brighton has been at the school since January 2009. It is through him that we have found many of our outstanding, committed teachers. Brighton is married with three daughters. His hobbies are reading the Bible, soccer and music.  He is a sociable person and loves sharing jokes. He has a passion for working with children. He feels happy when he is at Eagle's Nest. His dream is to one day own his own school.

He remembers when he first arrived in South Africa and was asked to write class reports using a computer and he had never used one before. One of his memorable events was visiting the Planetarium with his class. He has a desire to continue his studies till he reaches his Masters Stage.

Tyson Mupoterwa

Grade 6

Tyson Mupoterwa joined Eagle's Nest in January 2015. He is married with two children, one boy and one girl. He is the last born of 19 children!

His hobbies are listening to and singing gospel music and playing soccer.  

He teaches because it is his passion to share knowledge with the children and reach them young for God.  His dream is to study theology. He sees Eagle's Nest as a force of change in the Wallacedene Community.

Tyson is teaching Grade 6 and is also responsible for the Sports program at the school. 

He finds it interesting that it was 18 months before he was called for an interview at the school.

"Competing with parents at the inter-house athletics was great fun!" says Tyson. He thanks God for the school and his prayer is that God will take it to the highest level ever.

Nokwanda Duna


Nokwanda is married with 2 children, a daughter in Grade 4 and a son, just turned 3.Her hobbies are netball and cooking. She loves children and although she says she is an introvert, she is a very warm person. This is very important as she is the oil that makes the school run smoothly, as our administrator. 

Nokwanda joined us as a teacher's assistant, but her management gifts became evident and she applied successfully for the position she now holds. She says that Eagle's Nest is a lovely place, a reminder of God's faithfulness through it all. Her dream is for God to continue blessing and using her to do His work and bring people to Him.

Her final comment: "Eagle's Nest is a source of light in this community and many parents wish to bring their children to the school. That alone shows that we are doing a good job!"


We aim to uplift communities by providing the children with an education of excellence, irrespective of their social or financial background.
